The reason why the parts of injection mold do not operate smoothly

1. Corrosive wear

Treatment: Proper lubrication management for injection moulds should be carried out regularly, or maintenance free component structure should be adopted.

2. Fretting wear

Cause: Shallow pitting wear occurs when the clearance is relatively small, mostly in the fixed keys and keyways.


3. Wear and tear

Cause: Due to the repeated movement and stop of injection mold parts, fatigue occurs, and then wear occurs.

Impact: Repeated action of load on die parts will more or less lead to metal fatigue and scaly stripping.

4. Abrasive wear

Cause: When there is a hardness difference between the moving parts, the hard material bites into the soft material, causing scratches and burns.

5. Stick and wear

Reason: The protruding parts of the mold parts collide with each other, and the part with the strongest contact produces adhesion, and the adhesion part falls off and becomes wear powder, so that the wear continues.

Impact: The surface of the mold parts looks smooth at first glance, but in fact there are slight bumps and bumps. The raised part will contact first, which leads to the concentration of friction heat in the tiny part and causes sticking.


When the injection mold is continuously opened and closed, the ejector pin, the direct push tube and the center pin, and the side core-pulling slider may not be smooth.
