1: Preparation

     Except for a few templates that use cast iron and need to be cast, the rest are made of steel. Medium and low carbon steel billets include both bars and sheets. Bars are usually cut by sawing, and sheets can be cut by shearing or gas cutting according to different situations. The material preparation should leave enough suitable machining allowance and process materials for the subsequent process.


2: blank production
     In addition to a few small parts and simple structural parts, the blank can be obtained by direct blanking, and it is best to use round bar forging to obtain the blank. The advantage is that good mechanical properties can be obtained and the service life of the parts can be extended. Nor will the material be wasted due to inappropriate specifications of the material. In particular, forming working parts must also be forged according to the standard forging process, rather than purely pursuing the blank size. Tool steel and structural steel above medium carbon should be fully annealed after forging (the same is true for gas cutting parts). In order to reduce hardness, eliminate stress, facilitate cutting and improve tissue properties.

3: Rough machining
     Rough machining is contour machining, round parts are car-shaped, and rectangular parts can be saturated or milled according to different situations. Generally, large workpieces are selected for full, and small parts are selected for milling. The purpose is to remove the excess part of the blank, so that the shape is regular and the size is in place for subsequent processing. At the same time, a suitable margin should also be left for the subsequent process. Shaft parts will also make top holes or counter tops at the same time, and even process chucks.



4: Semi-finishing
     For mold parts that need to be heat treated and quenched, all contents that are inconvenient or impossible to reprocess after heat treatment must be completed. For the parts that need to be processed after heat treatment, sufficient and reasonable machining allowances should be reserved according to different processing methods, and different size, shape, position accuracy and surface roughness requirements should be specified. For rectangular pieces to be scribed, two planes and two datum planes should be flat-ground and a square ruler. For circular pieces to be scribed, the two sides should be ground first, so as to provide benchmarks for scribing and subsequent processing and testing. , to make the lines clear.

For mold parts that do not require heat treatment and quenching, semi-finishing and finishing can be combined, and it is not necessary to specify a clear order to ensure the smooth completion and quality of the content.
