The most common molding plastics with high cavity surface temperature are polyphenylene sulfide (PPS glass fiber 30%), liquid crystal polymer (LCP glass 40%), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyamide /46 nylon (PA46) and polycarbonate (PC), and the surface temperature of the cavity is between 70 and 150. We can choose the corresponding molding plastic according to the specific requirements of injection products, and we should pay special attention to this point in the mold design.


Because it is a high cavity surface temperature injection mold, special attention must be paid to temperature control. There are mainly the following ways:


1. Drum heater temperature regulation mode


How it works: The temperature is kept constant through simultaneous use with the temperature sensor. For more accurate temperature control, a heat shield is installed between the injection molding machine press plate and the mold mounting plate.


Advantages: large heat capacity, with the advantages of fast heating;


Disadvantages: the heater temperature distribution is uneven, it is difficult to maintain an even temperature distribution; In addition, the heater has a limited life and needs to be replaced regularly.

2. Pressure steam temperature regulation mode


Working principle: Temperature regulator with special pressure pump is used to adjust the temperature.


Advantages: Easy to ensure high temperature


Disadvantages: need to process the same as the conventional water temperature regulation for mold temperature control cooling hole.


3. Oil temperature control mode


How it works: The oil discharged from the circulating pump circulates through the connector hose in the flow channel set in the template or cavity, thus keeping the temperature constant.


Advantages: Once the temperature is raised to the set temperature, the temperature can be relatively stable.


Disadvantages: Longer heating time is required and there is a risk of burns when handling the oil.
